DUI Assessments and services

For any one 18 or older who has received a DUI the first step towards regaining driving privileges is a DUI assessment A DUI assessment consist of a psychosocial interview and a computerized record in the Kentucky database that will include two standardized assessment tools. The assessment will be used to determine the proper level of care.


One DUI 

Option I- A 20 hour education program; Prime For Life. This option requires attendance at 7 sessions, twice a week for a total of 20 hours

Option II- 10-13 weeks of outpatient services, these groups meet once a week for 90 minutes. We offer morning, evening, and weekend groups.

Option III- In some cases the assessment may indicate the need for a higher level of care. A&D provides an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) that includes individual sessions and three, 2 hour groups a week for 6-8 weeks. At the completion of IOP clients will be transitioned to a continuing care group that meets once a week for up to 52 weeks.


Second DUI within a 5 year period

Option I- Up to 52 weeks of outpatient services, these groups meet once a week for 90 minutes. We offer morning, evening, and weekend groups.

Option II- In some cases the assessment may indicate the need for a higher level of care. A&D provides an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).


Third or more DUI’s within a 5 year period

Option I- 52 weeks of outpatient services, these groups meet once a week for 90 minutes. We offer morning, evening, and weekend groups.

Option II- In some cases the assessment may indicate the need for a higher level of care. A&D provides an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). 


Substance Abuse Assessments

A Substance Abuse Assessment is recommended for any person that is concerned they may have a substance abuse problem or they have been charged/convicted in Kentucky of any substance abuse related charge.  This assessment determines the recommended level of service.  The assessment process includes a written test and an individual psychosocial interview.  This process results in the assessor making a recommendation for education and/or treatment.


Option I
- Substance Abuse & Addiction Basics; A three hour education class that explores the basics of substance abuse and addiction to help increase participants awareness and understanding of alcohol and other drug use effects.

Option II- 52 weeks of outpatient services, these groups meet once a week for 90 minutes. We offer morning, evening, and weekend groups.

Option III- In some cases the assessment may indicate the need for a higher level of care. A&D provides an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
Option IV- Opiate Program 


Anger management or Domestic Violence Assessments and services

Like substance abuse assessment, an anger management assessment is recommended for any person 18 or over that is concerned they may have an anger management problem or they have been charged/convicted in Kentucky of a domestic violence charge.  This assessment determines the recommended level of service and number of sessions.  The assessment process includes a written test and an individual psychosocial interview. This process results in the assessor making a recommendation for education and/or treatment.


Option I
- Anger Management Group, these 90 minute groups meet weekly and we offer morning, evening, and weekend groups. Sessions are individual determined.

Option II - Batterers Intervention Program This program is required for anyone with a domestic violence charge. Providing information about domestic violence, cycle of violence and anger management skills to improve emotional management. These 90 minute groups meet weekly; we offer morning, evening, and weekend groups.

 

Individual, Adolescent, & Family Services

A&D offers a range of and counseling and mediation services to help individual, couples, parent/child relationship issues, co-parenting, and custody and other family mediation services. We accept most major insurance.


Theft Awareness Class

  This program is designed to provide objective information about the impact of theft on society to individuals who have been charged and/or convicted of: Theft by Unlawful Taking (shoplifting) and/or Theft by Deception (bad check writing).  Other individuals who are non-court ordered may also enter this program.
